Finland is one of those places that stays with you long after you leave. But planning a trip here can feel tricky at first.
Where do you start? What do you skip? How do you fit in city life and the Arctic without feeling rushed?
I put together this 10-day Finland itinerary to take all the guesswork out for you. It covers Helsinki, Rovaniemi, and Finnish Lapland.
You get a great mix of culture, history, and raw Arctic wilderness, packed into one well-planned trip. You will know exactly where to go and what to do.
Trip Overview
You start with 3 nights in Helsinki, the capital. It is full of design, culture, and beautiful coastal views. Then you move to Rovaniemi for 3 nights, where the Arctic fun begins. You get outdoor activities and a visit to Santa Claus Village.
After that, you head deeper into Lapland for 3 nights. This is where you chase the Northern Lights, walk through snow-covered forests, and feel real wilderness around you.
The final night gives you a choice to head back to Helsinki or stay on in Lapland.
As for the best time to go, winter from December to March is great for snow and Northern Lights. Summer from June to August gives you the midnight sun, which is a rare and surreal experience. Both seasons have something special. It just depends on what you are after.
